ME News, April 17 (UTC+8): A man from Texas in the United States, Robert Dunlap, was sentenced to 23 years in federal prison for conducting a scam by issuing a so-called “Meta-1 Coin” crypto token backed by artworks by Picasso, Van Gogh, and Dali, as well as gold assets. He was also ordered to compensate nearly 1,000 victims for their losses. Prosecutors said he fabricated an asset background of approximately $4.4 billion in gold and about $1 billion in artworks, and forged audit information; the amount involved exceeded $20 million. Previously, a federal jury had already found him guilty of mail fraud. (Source: MLion)
