I just realized that Web3 is actually not as complicated as many people think. It is simply a natural progression of the internet - from static web (Web 1.0) to interactive web (Web 2.0), and now to decentralized web (Web 3.0). The biggest difference? This time, users truly own their data.
Basically, Web3 combines blockchain, AI, and decentralized technology to create a new internet. Instead of big companies controlling everything, now we can transact directly with each other without intermediaries. Gavin Wood, the founder of Polkadot, popularized this concept in 2014, and since then it has started changing how we think about the internet.
The beauty of Web3 is that it allows us to control personal data, reduce dependence on gatekeepers, and make everything more transparent. Its applications are also very diverse - from Metaverse, NFT games, DeFi, DAOs, to the creator economy. I am particularly impressed with how Web3 enables artists, designers, writers to bypass intermediaries and connect directly with their supporters.
But in reality, Web3 is still in its early stages. It requires high device configuration, can be difficult for newcomers to understand, and regulatory issues remain unclear. However, if you are interested in the future of the internet, then Web3 coins are the best way to start exploring.
I have looked through the list of promising Web3 coins recently. Bitcoin remains king, currently around $78,280 with a market cap of $1.568 trillion. Ethereum, the second largest, is at $2,190 and still the main platform for most dApps. BNB ($654) continues to develop its ecosystem. Solana ($86.51) is a strong competitor to Ethereum with faster transaction speeds.
Other notable Web3 coins include. Polygon (MATIC) at $0.18, an excellent Layer 2 solution. Chainlink (LINK) at $9.73 plays an important role in connecting blockchain with real-world data. Polkadot (DOT) at $1.27 focuses on interoperability between blockchains.
There are also interesting projects like CyberConnect (CYBER - $0.50), a decentralized social platform. Filecoin (FIL) at $0.96 offers decentralized storage. And Cardano (ADA) at $0.25, another Layer 1 blockchain with great potential.
I notice that the Web3 coin market has changed quite a lot since 2023. Many projects are trying to differentiate themselves and prove their real value. If you want to participate in the future of the internet, understanding Web3 and related Web3 coins is the first step.
The most important thing is not to rush. The cryptocurrency market is very volatile, so do thorough research, manage risks carefully, and only invest what you can afford to lose. Web3 is definitely the future, but the journey is still long.
