When a person is extremely insecure inside, they often exhibit a strange kind of aggression. Because what truly hurts them is not others, but their inability to accept themselves. So they become overly sensitive to the outside world, interpreting a simple remark, a glance, or an unintentional neglect as rejection, contempt, or provocation. To protect their fragile self-esteem, they can only attack others first, using assertiveness, sarcasm, anger, and control to hide their inner unease. Many times, the more someone loves to show off, the more they like to belittle others, and the more easily they break down emotionally, which precisely indicates that they lack genuine security inside. Because truly confident people are usually relaxed and do not need to attack others to prove themselves.
