Harvard University Liquidates Ethereum ETF, Abu Dhabi Sovereign Wealth Fund Increases Holdings in IBIT

Odaily Planet Daily reports that several sovereign wealth funds, universities, and traditional financial institutions recently disclosed their 13F holdings reports for the first quarter of 2026.

Among them, Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund Mubadala increased its holdings in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), from 12.7M shares to 14.72M shares, with new holdings worth over $90 million, bringing the total holding value close to $660 million. Its subsidiary, Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC), maintained its IBIT holdings at 8.22M shares, valued at approximately $315.8 million.

In terms of university funds, Harvard University’s endowment fund holds 3.04M shares of IBIT, worth about $117 million, a decrease of approximately 43% since the end of 2025. At the same time, Harvard has fully liquidated its previous quarter’s position in BlackRock’s Ethereum spot ETF, valued at about $86.8 million.

Additionally, Dartmouth College maintained its IBIT holdings unchanged and disclosed for the first time that it holds approximately 304.8k shares of Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, worth about $3.67 million, becoming one of the first university endowment funds to publicly allocate to Solana-related ETFs.

In the traditional financial sector, institutions such as Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and Barclays continue to increase or adjust their holdings of IBIT-related spot and options positions, while Hong Kong-based Laurore reduced its IBIT holdings from 8.79M shares to 6.85M shares. (The Block)
