Right now, I’m seeing news that major financial institutions are pouring heavy money into the crypto market. So I decided to take a closer look at which coins are actually worth investing in—ones with solid fundamentals, not just pump-and-dump price action.
Based on my observations of the market in 2026, and after getting new information, I want to share 6 coins I believe truly have potential, with each one having a different story.
Let’s start with Bitcoin, the main cornerstone of everyone’s portfolio. The current price is $78.27K. After I experienced the tension from the war earlier this year, it dropped to $60,132 due to news involving the US and Iran. But once the dust settled, institutions rushed in to buy again. This is the coin that’s most worth holding long term, because institutions have accumulated more than 12% of its market value.
The second one you shouldn’t miss is Ethereum (ETH), currently at $2.18K. Right now, 60% of the RWA and Stablecoin market activity is running on this chain. What’s most clear is that DeFi is still growing steadily, and big financial institutions are still pouring money in. For long-term investment, the coin to consider is ETH—correct.
If you want even more excitement, there’s Solana (SOL) at $86.70. Analysts at Galaxy say it has been chosen as the hub for AI Agents transactions. They say payments between AI could rise to as much as 5% of all transactions on this chain. Investing in this one means you need to be prepared for it to move strongly—up and down.
Ripple (XRP) at $1.42 is the coin with the best story and the most to watch right now. Everyone is waiting to see whether the CLARITY Act will pass the Congress. Ripple’s CEO says there’s an 80% chance it will. If it does pass, financial institutions around the world will rush to adopt it. The basic price target is $2.80, but if things get really bullish, it could surge to $15–$30.
Ondo Finance (ONDO) at $0.3 is a great value play. TVL has already surpassed $3 billion, but the coin’s price is still relatively modest. For the RWA category, this is the one you should think about, because in the second half of the year, there will be a vote to distribute income to token holders.
Lastly, Render (RENDER) at $1.84 is a network that rents out GPUs for AI workloads. GPU chips are currently in short supply, and Render is stepping in to solve the problem directly. Its market cap is $956 million. For AI categories where the Use Case is clear, this is the one you should think of.
For an investment strategy, the safest approach I see is DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging)—divide your investment and put in the same amount every month. Don’t go all in at once, because the crypto market isn’t that straightforward.
Another important thing is “Buy the Dip.” When Bitcoin dropped to $60,132, the people bold enough to buy that day are now smiling. The real crisis is the period when discounts are being sold.
But you need to be careful—there are plenty of risks. War news can cause the market to collapse. Legal uncertainty (like with XRP) can also be dangerous. And there are massive token unlocks that may pressure ONDO’s price—for example, early this year, 1.94 billion tokens were unlocked, which heavily weighed on the price.
So in summary, which coins are worth investing in depends on whether you’re a beginner or a thrill-seeker. Beginners should start with BTC and ETH. Thrill-seekers might take the risk with XRP or SOL. If you want to diversify, ONDO and RENDER are good options. Most importantly, study thoroughly before investing, and remember that risk management is what separates people who get rich from those who end up losing money.
