The United States approves 10 Chinese companies to purchase NVIDIA H200 chips, as Jensen Huang visits China with Trump to seek breakthroughs

ME News Report, May 14 (UTC+8), despite NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang visiting China with Trump to promote trade agreements, and the U.S. having approved approximately 10 Chinese companies such as Alibaba and Tencent to purchase up to 75k units of H200 chips through Lenovo and Foxconn, the deal faces a deadlock due to strict conditions including a 25% revenue sharing and U.S. transshipment requirements. Additionally, the rapid rise of domestic Chinese AI chips (such as Huawei’s) and supply chain security reviews have further complicated the situation, causing this industry giant, which once held 95% of the Chinese market share, to face a stall in transactions.
