Whenever I see Carol Paiffer in the news, I keep thinking about how someone can build such a fortune while being so transparent about market risks. She’s not the typical financial influencer profile that promises easy wealth.

For those who don’t know, Carol Paiffer is the CEO of Atom S.A., the first publicly traded trading company in Latin America. It all started back in 2006 when she and her brother Joaquim founded Paiffer Investments while still in college. That’s right, during her Business Administration degree. The timing was good because even during the 2008 crisis, while the Ibovespa dropped over 30%, their portfolio was up an average of 40%.

What stands out is the model she developed at Atom. Unlike other firms, the company allocates its own capital for traders to operate and shares the profits. But Carol realized that many lacked discipline, so she created the Atom University to train professionals. As a result, traders can keep up to 80% of the profits, which is rare in Brazil.

Carol Paiffer’s fortune is estimated at around US$ 900 million, but the most interesting thing isn’t the number itself. It’s how she got there. Besides Atom, she diversifies into startups, sports, and innovation. She invested in Casa das Latas, Total Beach Tennis, even in Vasco’s women’s soccer team. She created Dinastia Hub to accelerate scalable businesses. And of course, she joined Shark Tank Brazil as an investor, which further boosted her visibility.

What sets Carol Paiffer apart from other investors is her criteria. She doesn’t invest just because the product is good. She looks for prepared entrepreneurs, businesses with a validated customer base, and real competitive advantages. And she offers active mentorship, not just money.

For those following the Brazilian financial market, Carol Paiffer represents something that’s missing: someone who has accumulated significant wealth but continues to emphasize the importance of technical preparation and risk management. It’s not uncommon to see her warning about the dangers of day trading even as she’s a leading reference on the subject.

This kind of trajectory shows that strategy, discipline, and long-term vision truly make a difference. Whether operating in the short term or investing in companies, knowledge remains the main asset.
