Polls show: Only 4% of Americans consider cryptocurrency factors when voting
ME News message: On May 14 (UTC+8), according to a survey of 2,035 American adults conducted by polling firm Public First and released by Politico on Wednesday, only 4% of respondents said they would decide how they intend to vote based on a candidate’s position on cryptocurrency policy. Affordable housing, consumer fraud protection, and lowering bank fees were the top three issues voters most want Congress to address, and only 18% of respondents believe that setting crypto-market rules should be a congressional priority—just 1 percentage point higher than the share who favor regulating big banks. 45% of respondents said the risks of investing in crypto are not worth it, even with high returns, and only 19% have ever traded cryptocurrencies. Republican Congressman Dusty Johnson said most voters do not care about digital assets, but those who do care very much. Meanwhile, a HarrisX poll last week showed that 47% of voters are willing to vote across party lines to support candidates who back crypto legislation. (Source: PANews)
