Federal Reserve's Williams: Now is not the time to give clear guidance

ME News News, April 16 (UTC+8), Federal Reserve’s Williams stated on Thursday that the uncertainty surrounding the economic outlook limits what Federal Reserve officials can say about the future of interest rate policy. Williams said: “Given the many uncertainties in the current economic situation and the impact of the Middle East war, now is not the time to provide clear guidance. If inflation falls back to 2%, I think lowering interest rates would be appropriate, but we are not at that stage yet.” (Source: Jin10)
