Damn, Anthropic's 5/14 announcement is being shared all over the internet, but most people aren't catching the point.

The mainstream take is that "PwC's 300k employees will be replaced by Claude."
That's wrong.
What really happened is: each of the 300k consultants' productivity was amplified to handle projects that were previously impossible.
The data is so hard that it defies intuition:
Insurance underwriting was compressed from 10 weeks to 10 days, opening up previously unmanageable business lines.
Cybersecurity incident response went from hours to minutes.
HR transformation projects that were stuck for half a year, prototypes were built in a week, and within two months, they processed over a thousand daily transactions.
Overall delivery time improved by 70%.
But even more impressive is this 👇
PwC first ran internally in China — called "Customer Zero."
The finance team handled journal entries, variance analysis, RFPs, then sold to clients.
Anthropic's own CFO office also used PwC services to run international payroll.
Both sides are clients of each other, first running internally, then expanding externally.
💭 This scale of enterprise rollout is the true ceiling for Claude Code, not just the number of individual developer subscriptions.
Anthropic also invested $100 million to build the Claude Partner Network, specifically to develop service firms for deployment — this is the real chess game behind the announcement.
