I've always been curious about what cryptocurrency Elon Musk actually owns. Recently, I saw quite a bit of discussion, so I整理了一下他公开承认的加密资产配置。

Speaking of Musk and the crypto world, that relationship is truly complicated. His tweets can directly influence the prices of Bitcoin and Dogecoin, and this market influence is unmatched in the entire crypto space. But what he specifically holds has long been surrounded by various rumors.

According to the information he has publicly confirmed, Musk currently owns three types of cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin. These are the three he has explicitly mentioned; everything else is market speculation.

Regarding Bitcoin, Musk expressed support as early as 2014, and later, at the 2021 "B-Word" conference, he officially announced that he and Tesla hold BTC. Currently, Bitcoin is around $80.46k, and compared to his views back then, this asset has indeed validated his judgment.

Dogecoin is his favorite project. Since 2019, he has been continuously endorsing DOGE, even collaborating with developers to improve the network. He calls DOGE the "people’s coin" because many ordinary people hold it. Now, DOGE is priced at $0.11, with a circulating market cap close to $17.49 billion, making it the largest meme coin by market value. Tesla and SpaceX accept DOGE payments, which is his most direct support for this project.

Ethereum is relatively low-profile. In 2019, he only tweeted "Ethereum," followed by "jk," which seems more like a joke. He has occasionally discussed it with Vitalik Buterin, but overall, he pays less attention to Bitcoin or Dogecoin.

From a corporate perspective, Tesla bought $150 million worth of BTC in 2021 to diversify cash risks. As of February this year, Tesla’s Bitcoin holdings were 9,720 BTC, with an average cost of $34,722. Considering Bitcoin’s current price, this investment has already gained 181% profit.

Interestingly, Musk’s influence in crypto has spawned an ecosystem. Various tokens named after him have emerged, such as Dogelon Mars, Grok, and others. The combined market cap of these projects is also quite substantial.

Recently, under the Trump administration, Musk seems to be exploring how blockchain technology can optimize government operations, including tracking expenditures, protecting data, and processing payments. This indicates his interest in crypto technology has gone beyond investment and is now involved in broader applications.

Overall, the answer to the question "what cryptocurrency does Elon Musk own" is only three coins, but his influence on the entire crypto market far exceeds this number. Whether through personal holdings or corporate deployments, Musk has already become a key force driving crypto adoption. If he changes strategies or adds new assets in the future, it could trigger market waves.
