The Southern District of New York Federal Court in the United States sentenced former Celsius Chief Revenue Officer Roni Cohen-Pavon to "time served" and accepted 1 year of supervised release, after he previously pleaded guilty to charges related to fraud and manipulation of CEL token prices. Cohen-Pavon was indicted in 2023 alongside Celsius founder Alex Mashinsky, in a case involving large-scale user losses caused by Celsius's collapse in 2022. According to the agreement, Cohen-Pavon must also pay over $1 million in restitution and a $40k fine; Mashinsky has previously been sentenced to 12 years in prison and ordered to forfeit $48 million in assets.
