I just saw some pretty impressive figures about global wealth distribution. The truth is, when you start researching how many millionaires there are in the world, the numbers are dizzying.

According to what I found: there are about 60 million millionaires spread across the planet. Then there are the billionaires, who are just 3,148 people. But what’s most surprising is the level of concentration at the top: just 19 people control fortunes over 100 billion dollars, 6 surpass 200 billion, and there is literally one person worth more than 800 billion dollars.

Elon Musk leads that list with a net worth close to 849 billion dollars. So when you look for information about how many millionaires there are in the world, what you’re really seeing is a brutal pyramid of concentration.

I was thinking about this: most people are watching how others build wealth, but very few are actually building their own. I guess the question is whether you’re in the first group or the second. Because the numbers don’t lie: how many millionaires there are in the world is one thing, but how many of us are doing something about it is a completely different matter.
