Don't pay $100 a month for Claude before reading this

Many people complain that the $20 Claude plan isn't enough for them.
Then they rush and upgrade their subscription to $100.

The problem is usually not in the plan.
The problem is in the approach.

I explained in the previous article 11 ways
And here I will explain 11 more ways:

12. Don't use Projects for repetitive files
You upload the same documents in every new conversation.
Solution: Create a dedicated Project. Upload the files once.
Every conversation within the project will be ready, without burning extra tokens.

13. Fill Cowork with 50 "backup" files
Every file you upload is uploaded even if you don't need it.
Solution: Only upload what you specifically need for this task.
For simple tasks like drafting an email, zero files is the correct answer.

14. Put 3 topics in one conversation
Claude re-reads all the context with every message.
Solution: A new topic means a new conversation. Always.
Dead context equals dead tokens.

15. Keep search and additional tools permanently enabled
Every enabled tool increases the weight of every message you send.
Solution: Disable everything by default.
Enable only what you need for each task individually, not for the entire account.

16. Manually do the same report every week
This is a repetitive task that can be fully automated.
Solution: Use the /schedule command.
"Every Monday at 7 AM, create my weekly summary."

17. Let Claude Code browse your entire codebase
Random exploration consumes huge space.
Solution: Be specific. "Draw a diagram from this CSV file. Save it as .png."
Precision in instructions saves enormous space.

18. Ignore personal preference settings
You waste time explaining your style in every new conversation.
Solution: Go to Settings then Personal Preferences.
Set your style and tone once. Every subsequent conversation will start from the same level.

19. Write poor prompts like "Make it better"
This phrase gives Claude absolute authority without direction.
Solution: Talk to your prompts in your voice using a tool like Wispr.
Natural speech provides richer and more accurate context than rushed writing.

20. Burn your daily quota in one hour
Claude operates on a rolling window of 5 hours.
Solution: Distribute your usage throughout the day.
Distributed sessions give you much higher productivity than one intensive session.

21. Use Claude for tasks designed for other tools
Every tool is made for a specific purpose.
Solution: Know the limits of each tool.
Images and designs, Gemini.
Instant search and real-time news, Grok.
Claude is best for thinking, writing, and deep analysis.

The difference between paying $20 and $100 is usually not in the plan.
The difference is in the approach.

The tool itself, but the usage is completely different.
