ME News Report, May 14 (UTC+8), UK Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage is being formally investigated by the UK Parliamentary Standards Commissioner for failing to declare a £5 million gift from Tether investor Christopher Harbin. Harbin is a 12% shareholder in Tether and the party’s largest donor, having previously set a UK personal political donation record with a single donation of £9 million. Farage stated that the money was used for his personal security, and that the gift occurred before he announced his candidacy, so he was not obligated to declare it. If found to have violated parliamentary conduct rules, he could face a written apology, suspension of his MP status, or even expulsion. (Source: MLion)
