Gate Contract Points: How to Convert Trading Activities into Quantifiable Value

Abstract generation in progress

Trading contracts on Gate means that every action you take is more than just a buy or sell decision. Holding positions, trading, inviting friends—these behaviors themselves are simultaneously accumulating a quantifiable value credential: Contract Points.

Gate Contract Points are not simply reward tallies; they represent a systematic collection of user behavior data, multi-dimensional modeling, and ultimately converting into consumable rights and benefits. They turn your daily trading, asset management, and community contributions into accumulable and trackable point values. Holding positions earns points, trading earns points, inviting friends also earns points. These points can be directly exchanged for experience vouchers, airdrops of popular assets, and other tangible rewards, ensuring every transaction produces visible feedback.

Where do your points come from

Contract points are independently calculated daily across three behavioral dimensions, each accumulated separately, then summarized into a total score for the day. This means you don’t need to be a high-frequency trader to continuously earn points from different perspectives.

Account Holdings

As long as your contract account and TradFi account hold assets, you can steadily earn balance points daily. The system snapshots the USDT and BTC values in your contract account, as well as the USDx balance in your TradFi account, converts everything into USD, and grants points based on tiers:

  • Account balance between $100 and $1,000 earns 1 point daily
  • Between $1,000 and $10,000 earns 2 points daily
  • Between $10,000 and $100,000 earns 3 points daily
  • Over $100,000 earns 4 points daily

Even if you do not make any trades that day, as long as your assets meet the criteria, points will still be automatically credited. This design captures the value of “static holdings,” including implicit behaviors, allowing users who are not primarily high-frequency traders to be included in the system’s scope.

Contract Trading

Trading points are directly linked to your trading volume and are the main channel for earning points. The rules are straightforward: every $400 of effective trading volume earns 1 point. Doubling the volume doubles the points—$800 yields 2 points, $1,600 yields 3 points, $3,200 yields 4 points, and so on, with no daily cap.

Starting from February 9, 2026, TradFi product trading volume will also be converted at 20% into effective trading volume. If you trade $10,000 in gold, forex, or stock index products, it counts as $2,000 of effective trading volume for contract points. The integration across product lines broadens the behavioral data collection from single contract trading to platform-wide asset trading.

Inviting Friends

For each new user you successfully invite to participate in activities, and who earns at least 2 points, you will receive 1 invitation point, with a daily cap of 3 points. The community network you expand will also leave a mark in the form of points.

The data from these three dimensions are calculated independently each day and then combined into the total daily points. This parallel collection structure prevents high investment in a single dimension from replacing the value of overall participation—simply trading volume or static holdings alone cannot yield the full points reward.

What can points be used for

The most direct value of points is exchanging for airdrops and trading rights.

Position experience vouchers are among the most popular options. Spending 20 points can redeem a 100 USDT position experience voucher, with a minimum holding requirement of 40 points. These vouchers can be used as margin to open positions, and the profits generated can usually be withdrawn, providing greater operational flexibility.

GUSD airdrops use a decreasing points threshold, starting at about 170 points, gradually lowering over time. Spending 15 points can claim 25 GUSD. The threshold decreases over time, so users with higher points gain priority in claiming. This design essentially converts behavioral data quantification results directly into prioritized rights and benefits.

Additionally, Gate officially launched the contract points lottery feature on May 9, 2026. Users can spend a small number of points to participate in draws for coupon rewards. The first event offers a pool of 20 GUSD for 20 points, with 5,000 winners. The platform will also periodically introduce various asset airdrops, which you can check at any time on the points redemption page.

The points page details daily points earned from balance, trading, and invitation channels, with a 15-day history of accumulation and consumption records. Behavior trajectories are transparent, and value conversion is naturally clear.

Points expiration notice

Contract points are calculated on a rolling 15-day window. Each point earned is valid for 15 days from the date of acquisition; unused points expire automatically and cannot be recovered.

When spending points, the system will prioritize deducting the earliest earned points batch, following the “first-in, first-out” principle. This means you don’t need to hoard points; timely redemption maximizes their utility. Note that the system will not proactively notify you when points are about to expire, so it’s recommended to check the points page regularly on a weekly basis and redeem before expiration.

Mechanically, the 15-day rolling window continuously refreshes the validity of your points data, ensuring your current balance always reflects recent participation rather than historical accumulation. This is the core difference between points and traditional membership points—they are not an infinitely accumulable “digital balance,” but a behavioral credential that must be converted into actual benefits within a limited period.

Conclusion

At Gate, contract points turn trading behaviors into a clear and tangible accumulation. Whether you prefer holding positions, engaging in high-frequency trading, or simply recommending the platform to friends, the system provides feedback in the form of points. And you can always exchange these points for real trading tools or asset rewards.

Quantified behaviors, visible value—that’s what contract points are doing. They don’t change your trading style; they just ensure every participation leaves a clear echo.
