I notice that many new people entering crypto still don't fully understand what a future coin is, especially when hearing about long and short positions from the group members. Today, I want to share some personal experiences about this type of trading.

Basically, futures are derivative contracts that allow you to bet on price trend forecasts. If you believe the price will go up, you go long; if you think it will go down, you go short. It sounds simple, but underneath, there's a pretty complex mechanism with leverage up to x100. Almost all crypto exchanges now have this feature, although not all coin projects are listed for futures trading.

Leverage is what makes futures risky. It works like a loan—if you have $1 and use x100 leverage, you can borrow an additional $99 to trade with a total of $100. The trap here is that if you're wrong, the loss is calculated based on the borrowed amount, not just your initial capital. When losses hit the threshold, your assets will be liquidated—that is, losing 100% of your principal. I've seen many newcomers get wiped out after just a few trades.

Therefore, risk management is absolutely essential. First, you need to get familiar with two tools: SL (Stop Loss) and TP (Take Profit). Most exchanges have automated features for these points. When placing an order, always set up SL and TP in advance to avoid losing all your assets if you can't close the position in time.

Based on my experience, I have a few rules for beginners trading futures coins:

If trading BTC, only use up to x5 leverage. For ETH or other altcoins, x3 is a safe limit. Divide your capital into many small trades instead of risking it all at once; this gives you more chances to withstand losses if the market reverses. And especially, pay attention to liquidation points—try to set them as far from the current price as possible, so you don’t get liquidated just because the market moves slightly.

Remember, this is just sharing experience, not investment advice. You need to do your own research carefully before entering this type of trading. Those interested can follow me for more signals and market analysis.
