I just discovered an artist who is doing really interesting things in the NFT space, and honestly deserves more attention. Her name is Jen Stark, and if you see her work, you immediately understand why people are obsessed with her.
The first thing that strikes you is the color. Her works are full of psychedelic patterns, kaleidoscopic shapes, and a visual energy that is almost hypnotic. But here’s the fascinating part: behind all that visual vibration, there is mathematics. Fractal patterns, Fibonacci sequences, natural geometry. It’s not just pretty art, it’s smart art.
Jen Stark is originally from Miami, but now lives in Los Angeles. She started as a traditional artist, working with paint, wood, metal. But during the pandemic, when she moved to LA, she had more time to experiment. That’s when she discovered NFTs in 2021 and thought: why not bring my style into the digital realm?
Her first NFT was called Multiverse, a 1 of 1 she described as a psychedelic zoo of layered shapes. It was her entry point into the crypto world, and she hasn’t stopped since. What impresses me is that Jen Stark didn’t change her artistic vision to fit NFTs; she simply transformed her traditional techniques into code. Her cut-paper sculptures became digital animations. Her inspiration remained the same: nature.
In 2021, she collaborated with Art Blocks on a series called Vortex, which consisted of 1,000 generative art pieces. Each one spins kaleidoscopically, as if you’re looking inside a constantly moving kaleidoscope. Then came Cosmic Cuties in 2022, a series of 333 items full of big eyes, smiles, and her characteristic wavy color patterns. It’s the kind of collection that makes you smile just by looking at it.
What really stands out about Jen Stark is her consistency. From her early sculptures to her most recent NFTs, her perspective has remained steady. She has always been inspired by nature: the colors that attract or warn, the hidden mathematical equations in plants, the fractures in crystals. She explained it well in an interview: nature offers us continuous change through color and spectrum, and she visualizes the mathematical part of all that.
In 2022, Christie's even included her work Light Box #2 in their Trespassing III auction and invited her as a speaker at their art and technology summit. That says a lot about how the traditional art world is recognizing the work artists like Jen Stark are doing in the digital space.
Her advice to other artists is simple but powerful: focus on what you love, keep working, persevere. People told her she couldn’t do what she wanted, but she’s stubborn, followed her own path. And in the end, that’s what matters.
What’s interesting about Jen Stark is that she shows NFTs are not just speculation or passing fashion. When a legitimate artist with a clear vision enters the space, they create something that transcends hype. Her works are digitally accessible but maintain the depth and intent of any physical artwork. Whether it’s a paper sculpture, a painting, or an NFT, Jen Stark continues to bring color and light to everything she touches.
