I just discovered a pretty crazy story. HongKongDoll - that famous actress - turns out to have been a Web3 expert for a long time. Rumor has it she once made over 100 million dollars from shorting ETH, but recently her wallet has gone to zero. Pretty shocking, right?
I looked into the story from the beginning. In 2022, HongKongDoll started playing with NFTs, especially the hot and cheap Azuki project at that time. She bought a large amount, costing up to $400k, and then the price increased tenfold, from 3 ETH to 30 ETH. Then she publicly announced that she had shorted ETH 50 times at $2,836, and when ETH dropped near $1,000, the whole community started buzzing that she made a huge profit.
But actually, HongKongDoll later clarified that it wasn't as big as everyone thought, just to protect her current position. The community gradually lost interest in her. By November, she tweeted that her wallet was at zero, and people started speculating whether she got hacked or not. But she also said the situation was more complicated.
The interesting part is that HongKongDoll still earns income from OnlyFans like an endless machine. She even voted on returning to old projects. So anyone worried about her doesn't need to be too concerned. HongKongDoll's story is truly a valuable lesson about the crypto market — from peak to bottom in just a few months.
