Wu Shuo learned that blockchain independent investigator tanuki42 posted on Twitter that a suspected North Korean recruiter attempted to buy the rights to use his Upwork account for $300 per month. According to his disclosure, the other party wanted to use a U.S. citizen's Upwork account with local devices, claiming that Upwork monitors user IPs, and proposed to pay in USD or cryptocurrency, with a subsequent 15% share of monthly income. tanuki42 said that the other party then guided him to install remote control software AnyDesk / RustDesk and connect to the device, but shortly after connecting, the connection was cut off, chat history was cleared, and the user was blocked. tanuki42 also published related IOC and attached his Ethereum Security QF page at the end of the post for donations.
