Framewise Health receives YC support, uses AI videos to enhance patient education effectiveness
AIMPACT News, May 12 (UTC+8), Framewise Health received support from Y Combinator, utilizing video generation models to automatically convert medical records, institutional protocols, and medication data into personalized patient education videos covering admission guidance, treatment adherence, and recovery processes. The videos can provide real-time feedback on patients’ understanding of each topic and send data back to the care team to identify patients who need follow-up. The company was co-founded by Tane Kim (CEO, who dropped out of Brown University’s BS/MD program) and David Cui (CTO, with a background in computer vision at Brown University), collaborating with hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and private clinics. The article notes that this solution aims to address the issue of nearly 90% of the U.S. population having insufficient health literacy, with traditional paper materials leading to poor learning outcomes and low medical adherence. Preventable medication-related injuries cost the U.S. over $500 billion annually. (Source: InFoQ)
