US Court Clears $71M ETH Transfer in Lazarus-Linked Exploit Case

A U.S. Manhattan federal court authorized the transfer of about $71 million in ETH that was frozen in an exploit linked to Lazarus Group. The ruling lets Aave move ETH tied to an Arbitrum-based rsETH exploit to a protocol-managed wallet after a governance vote. Judge Margaret Garnett partially modified a prior freeze order and upheld an about $877 million claim against North Korea by victims of terrorism. The ruling also established legal protections for governance participants.
