ME News report: On April 10 (UTC+8), according to a GoPlus alert, a community user reported that when searching for “Pancakeswap” on Google, the pinned advertisement results redirect to phishing websites under the google.com domain. GoPlus’s investigation found that attackers used hosting platforms such as Google Sites to deploy phishing websites and used search engine ads to place the phishing links at the top. When users visit malicious sites, they may lower their guard after seeing the address bar show the google.com top-level domain, thus falling into a phishing trap. GoPlus advises users to pay attention to identifying the advertisement markers and verifying the authenticity of the URLs through multiple channels such as official documentation or social media; always remember the “Four No’s” principle: do not click on unfamiliar links, do not install unknown software, do not sign for unknown transactions, and do not transfer funds to unverified addresses. Also, install security plugins to block phishing links and risky transactions in real time. (Source: PANews)
