ME News Report, April 16 (UTC+8),
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated at a press conference in Tehran on the 15th that
speculations regarding the extension of the Iran-U.S. ceasefire cannot yet be confirmed, and
it is necessary to observe whether the U.S. side’s claimed diplomatic stance is genuinely sincere.
When asked about “whether the Iran-U.S. ceasefire might be extended and which issues have made relative progress in negotiations,”
Kanaani said that the U.S. “stance has changed multiple times and its statements are contradictory,”
even if some consensus is reached, it is difficult to ensure that the U.S. will fulfill it.
Therefore, dialogue between Iran and the U.S. is taking place under very complex circumstances.
Regarding the progress of negotiations, Kanaani stated that
the relevant issues are interconnected, and all aspects need to be advanced as a whole.
Currently, the dialogue is still ongoing through Pakistan as an intermediary. (Source: ODAILY)
