๐ May Trading Share โ Here Is My Honest Story This Month
May 2026 has been one of those months that either builds you as a trader or breaks you. No in between.
We got everything thrown at us simultaneously. US-Iran military escalation. Oil swinging 7% in a single session. Treasury yields hitting 5%. Bitcoin dropping below $80,000. And through all of it, the traders who survived did not survive because they predicted any of it. They survived because their risk management was stronger than their ego.
Here is my honest May so far.
I made a decision in the first week of May to cut leverage completely. Not reduce โ eliminate. The macro environment was screaming caution and I listened. Treasury yields competing with crypto at 5%, Fed showing zero pivot signals, geopolitical tension building near Hormuz. Every signal pointed toward protecting capital first and chasing returns second.
That decision saved my month when Iran escalation hit on May 8th.
My main setup this month was simple โ range trading Bitcoin between $76,000 and $81,000. No breakout chasing. No altcoin speculation. Just disciplined entries near support, exits near resistance, and hard stops below $75,500 without exception. Three out of four setups worked cleanly. One stopped out. Net result โ positive month despite one of the most chaotic macro backdrops in recent memory.
The trade I am most proud of was not a trade at all. When oil crashed 7% on ceasefire rumors and everyone rushed to buy the crypto relief rally โ I waited. Something felt off. Twelve hours later US airstrikes shattered the ceasefire and everything reversed violently. The traders who chased that rally got trapped immediately.
Patience was the trade.
Heading into the second half of May I am watching three things closely. Bitcoin holding above $80,000, oil stabilizing below $93, and whether Circle's fresh $250M USDC mint on Solana translates into real buying support. If all three align โ June sets up beautifully.
May is not over yet. But whatever it delivers, the lessons are already permanent.
