Honestly, scrolling through token lists lately and it's kind of depressing. More than half of all the tokens that ever launched are basically dead now. Like, completely gone. And 2025 was absolutely brutal for this stuff.

I've been watching the graveyard grow for a while, but last year was something else. So many projects just... vanished. Rugpulls, failed development, abandoned repos, exchanges delisting them one by one. You look at the sheer volume of tokens that launched with hype and died within months.

This is what makes people ask 'is crypto dying?' right? When you see this many projects fail, it does mess with your confidence in the space. But here's the thing - this kind of culling probably had to happen. Most of those tokens were never viable anyway. Bad tokenomics, no real use case, just riding waves.

The ones that survive tend to be the ones with actual utility or strong communities. Bitcoin, Ethereum, the projects that solved real problems. Everything else? Yeah, a lot of that was just noise that needed to clear out.

Still, seeing these numbers is a reality check. The space is maturing, but it's also brutal for people who got caught holding bags from 2021-2022. Just saying.
