the board had no idea what they'd actually given away in 2019.

→ every restructuring needed their sign-off before it moved
→ every real strategic decision ran through the investment agreement, not the boardroom
removing a person is symbolic.
reshaping a company is structural.
they could fire someone on a friday.
they couldn't decide what happened saturday morning.
real power isn't the org chart. it's the clause buried in the deal nobody reads at the press conference.
that's the difference between owning a company and thinking you do.
