What Is Arbitrum (ARB)?

Arbitrum (ARB) is a Layer 2 scaling solution built on top of Ethereum, designed to improve transaction speed and reduce costs. Developed by Offchain Labs, Arbitrum uses optimistic rollup technology to process transactions off-chain while maintaining the security of Ethereum.
The ARB token is the native governance token of the Arbitrum network. It allows holders to vote on protocol upgrades, funding decisions, and ecosystem development. Unlike some cryptocurrencies, ARB is not mainly used for gas fees; instead, it plays a key role in decentralized governance.
Arbitrum has gained popularity due to its ability to support decentralized applications (dApps) with lower fees and faster confirmation times compared to Ethereum mainnet. Many popular DeFi platforms and NFT projects have migrated to Arbitrum to take advantage of its scalability.
In summary, ARB is a governance token that powers one of the most efficient Layer 2 solutions in the crypto space, helping make blockchain technology more accessible and cost-effective.
