Iran seeks to control the underwater internet cables in the Strait of Hormuz

ME News Report, May 10 (UTC+8), Iran is pushing for licensing, charging, and legal jurisdiction over foreign cable operators. These cables carry a large volume of data traffic between Europe, the Gulf region, and Asia. Iran also requires all management and maintenance work to be exclusively handled by domestic companies.
