The European Commission preliminarily finds that metaverse platform companies remain non-compliant after policy adjustments

ME News, on April 15 (UTC+8), the European Commission issued a bulletin stating that it has sent a supplementary statement of objections to a U.S. metaverse platform company. The commission’s preliminary finding is that, even after the company adjusted its measures related to restricting third-party artificial intelligence (AI) assistants from accessing its instant messaging application WhatsApp, it still violates EU antitrust rules. The commission plans to require the company to restore third-party AI assistants’ access to WhatsApp. (Source: ODAILY)
