Deep Tide TechFlow message: On May 09, according to a report by CoinDesk, U.S. Manhattan federal judge Margaret Garnett has approved Aave’s asset recovery plan. This plan allows ETH worth approximately $71 million that is related to attack incidents associated with North Korea and was previously frozen on Arbitrum to be transferred into a wallet controlled by Aave LLC, while preserving the legal right of the plaintiffs representing victims of terrorism to pursue claims over the funds. The ruling also amended the earlier freeze notice against Arbitrum DAO, allowing the transfer to be carried out via an on-chain governance voting process, and exempting anyone who initiates, votes on, or participates in the transfer from liability under the freeze order. The transfer still requires formal approval through on-chain governance by Arbitrum.
