Just updated my SRD grant details online and realized a lot of people don't know how straightforward it actually is. If you need to change your cellphone number for the SRD grant, you can literally do it all from your phone without visiting an office.

Here's the thing - you'll need your SA ID number and your application ID handy. If you can't remember your application ID, you can pull it from the main SRD website using your current number. Then head to the contact details page on the SRD portal and input your new cellphone number. They'll send you an OTP to verify it's actually your number, and boom, done. Takes like 5 minutes.

The key thing I learned is don't mess with random websites claiming they can update your stuff. Stick to the official SASSA SRD portal only - there's a bunch of fake sites out there trying to catch people slipping. Also, if you're going for the cash send option, make sure your new number is properly registered with RICA compliance, otherwise it won't work.

For permanent grants though, it's a whole different process - you've gotta visit an office in person and bring your ID plus bank statements. But for SRD? The online method is actually pretty solid if you've got your application ID ready. Has anyone else tried updating their cellphone number this way recently?
