CryptoWorld News reports that U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett in the Southern District of New York has removed legal barriers to the transfer of $71 million worth of ETH tied to a North Korea-linked hacking incident involving AAVE. This will allow the attack funds frozen on Arbitrum to be transferred to AAVE LLC, but the relevant legal restraining order will be transferred along with the assets. Previously, plaintiffs holding judgments against North Korea tried to limit this money, arguing that it could be used to enforce compensation judgments related to North Korea; AAVE argued that the frozen assets concerned belong to users of the AAVE protocol and are not owned by the attacker or North Korea-related entities.
