Russia uncovers underground cryptocurrency mining farm

ME News Report, May 9 (UTC+8), Russian police and the Federal Security Service raided an underground crypto mining farm near Yegoryevsk, Moscow Oblast, and detained a 68-year-old local man. The police stated that the man had deployed 30 mining machines on his private land in Pokhinki village, causing overloads on the nearby power grid, voltage fluctuations in residential homes, and damage to household appliances, resulting in property losses exceeding 4 million rubles. The equipment seized at the scene included 2 routers, 1 laptop, 1 mobile phone, and 8 fans. The man is currently under house arrest. (Source: MLion)
