LangSmith supports functioning as a remote MCP server

AIMPACT News, May 9th (UTC+8), LangChain announced on May 9, 2026, that LangSmith now supports as a remote MCP server. Users can access tracking, projects, datasets, prompts, and billing information directly by logging in with a LangSmith account through an MCP-compatible client, without the need for a local server or API keys. The server is based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), utilizing OAuth 2.1 authentication and Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), supporting three regional endpoints: United States (GCP), European Union (GCP), and United States (AWS). Claude Code and Cursor users can quickly connect via configuration files. Available tools include thread management, prompt management, tracking runs, dataset operations, experiment evaluation, and billing queries. Self-hosted LangSmith users do not currently support this feature and need to run a separate MCP server. (Source: InFoQ)
