ME News Report, May 9 (UTC+8), blockchain security company CertiK released a report stating that in the first four months of 2026, there have been 34 confirmed physical violence attacks against cryptocurrency asset holders worldwide, a 41% increase year-over-year, resulting in approximately $101 million in losses. Among these, 82% of the incidents occurred in Europe, with France accounting for 24 cases. CertiK pointed out that attack patterns are shifting from traditional tracking to data-driven targeted locking, with attackers purchasing names, addresses, and financial information to filter targets, and increasingly using victims’ family members as pressure points. Meanwhile, impersonating couriers, police, and fake OTC transactions remain the main methods of attack. (Source: MLion)
