#Gate广场五月交易分享 According to the latest information, here are the details regarding BitMine approaching a 5% ETH supply target and the slowdown in buying activity:

Core Progress
BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) currently holds about 5.18 million ETH, accounting for approximately 4.29% of the total circulating supply of Ethereum (about 120.7 million), with about 86% of the 5% target achieved. Over the past week, the company added approximately 101,745 ETH, with a weekly purchase amount of about $237.7 million based on the reference price of approximately $2,336.
Buying Activity Will Slow Down
Chairman Tom Lee recently stated that as the company approaches the 5% supply target, the pace of ETH purchases will slow. The reason is not bearish on Ethereum, but rather that after nearing the target, efforts will shift to other strategic deployments—including the full deployment of the staking infrastructure MAVAN platform and other investment directions (such as equity investments in Eightco and Beast Industries). Based on previous purchase speeds, Lee estimates it will take about 6 weeks to reach the 5% goal, so a strategic slowdown is a reasonable adjustment.
Staking and Yield
BitMine has staked about 4.36 million ETH (approximately 84% of its total holdings), valued at about $10.2 billion, making it the largest single ETH staker in the network. The current annualized staking yield is about $297 million, and with the full launch of the MAVAN platform, yields are expected to increase further.
Asset Overview
In addition to ETH, BitMine also holds about 200 BTC, $700 million in cash, and minority stakes in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings, with total crypto assets, cash, and equity valued at approximately $13.1 billion.
Current ETH Market Price
ETH is currently priced at about $2,287, down 0.45% in the past 24 hours, with a nearly 4.4% increase over the past 30 days, a market cap of approximately $274.9 billion, ranking second.
Market Impact Analysis
BitMine’s slowdown is not a negative signal. From a holdings perspective, 4.29% of the supply has been locked and most of it staked, which provides structural support for ETH prices. After the slowdown, the market should observe that: in the short term, reduced large-scale buying demand may decrease some liquidity shocks, but long-term staking yields and the institutional infrastructure deployment of the MAVAN platform could attract more institutional capital into the Ethereum ecosystem. Tom Lee has repeatedly emphasized that Ethereum is in the late stages of a "small crypto winter," and this slowdown is more of a strategic shift after reaching the target rather than a sign of shaken confidence.
