XRP Ledger Update Arrives With Default-Enabled Amendment - U.Today
XRP Ledger Foundation, a non-profit organization that contributes to, grows, and advocates for the XRP Ledger and its community, has announced the release of a new rippled or XRPL software version.
In a tweet, the XRP Ledger Foundation made it known that XRP Ledger version 3.1.3 is available. This version of the XRPL software is unique as it only includes a default-yes fix amendment.
This means that no manual voting is needed, with upgrading alone being enough. Node operators and validators are urged to upgrade their nodes as soon as possible. This is essential so that they won’t be amendment blocked.
When an amendment is enabled, servers running earlier versions of Rippled without the amendment’s source code no longer understand the rules of the network. Rather than guess and misinterpret ledger data, these servers become amendment blocked and cannot determine the validity of a ledger, submit or process transactions, participate in the consensus process, or vote on future amendments.

The new release comes nearly two months after XRP Ledger Software version 3.1.2, which launched on March 13. Version 3.1.2 fixed an edge case that can cause outages on public-facing nodes.
XRP Ledger secures key milestone

Mastercard’s Multi-Token Network facilitated the cross-border settlement by enabling interoperability between on-chain assets and traditional fiat money.
Senior VP of RippleX, Markus Infanger, highlighted that the transaction shows how tokenized assets can move seamlessly between public blockchain infrastructure and the global financial system.
The XRP Ledger is being used by major financial institutions to show blockchain’s ability to settle tokenized Treasuries across borders with speed.
