Just went through the Pi kyc process and figured I'd share what actually happens so you're not confused when your turn comes up. Basically, Pi Network requires everyone to verify their identity before you can move your coins to Mainnet, and it's pretty straightforward if you know what to expect.
First thing - you gotta wait for the invite. Pi doesn't let everyone do kyc at once, so keep checking your app for that notification saying you're selected. Once you get it, head to Pi Browser and find the KYC app in there. That's where the whole verification happens.
Before you start, grab your documents. You'll need a valid government ID - could be your passport, driving license, national ID card, whatever. Make sure the name on it matches exactly with your Pi account name, and obviously the ID can't be expired or damaged.
Then you fill in your details - full legal name, date of birth, country, ID number. Keep it exact with what's on your ID. Next part is uploading photos of your ID, front and back. This is where people mess up - make sure there's good lighting, no glare, everything's crisp and readable.
The facial verification part is straightforward too. Just take a live selfie using your phone camera. They'll ask you to look in different directions, blink, that kind of thing. Make sure you're somewhere well-lit so the camera can actually see your face clearly.
Once you submit everything, it goes through both AI and human verification. This can take anywhere from a few hours to a couple days. You'll get notified in the app when it's approved. After that, your mined Pi is finally unlocked for Mainnet transfers, which is the whole point of doing pi kyc in the first place.
The key thing is just being careful with your documents and making sure everything matches. People who rush through this tend to get rejected and have to resubmit. Take your time, follow the steps, and you should be fine.
