Recently, I’ve been pondering a question: why do some people find it so difficult to break through no matter how hard they try? I think the key might lie in a word— the zeroing-out mindset.

Have you noticed that most people's comfort zones are not actually lying on the beach doing nothing? Instead, they are so busy that they have no time to think. That’s the most dangerous, because you don’t even realize you’ve already fallen in. Repeating the same track every day, thinking you’re making progress, when in fact you’ve long since stopped.

Zeroing out, simply put, is an empty cup mentality. Let go of past glories, status, achievements, break the existing cognitive framework, and start anew. Many people get stuck at this step because they are too attached to what they once had. But if you indulge in old glory, you will never be able to break out of that box.

Wang Yangming once said something I strongly agree with: “Breaking the mountain of bandits is easy, breaking the bandit in your mind is hard.” External obstacles are easy to overcome; the wall inside your mind is the real enemy. The process of shedding the shell is usually accompanied by blood and pain, but that is precisely the price of growth.

We often say that you can’t find new continents on an old map, and this principle also applies to the crypto market. The market is changing, opportunities are changing. If you stubbornly cling to past perceptions and strategies, how can you catch the new wave? Life is like riding a bicycle; only by moving forward constantly can you avoid falling. Stopping is the most dangerous.

So, what is the core of the zeroing-out mindset? It’s the courage to shed the shell, the courage to give up. Many people ask, why not first determine what they can gain before deciding what to give up? That’s a good question, but it also reveals a misconception—the future is inherently unpredictable. No one can accurately foresee it, and that’s what makes life most exciting.

The more confidence you have in the future, the more patience you will have for the present. This patience comes from the willingness to zero out, from the courage to start over. Titles and honors are only temporary brilliance, but they are also permanent shackles. True progress begins with the courage to let go.

Recently, watching the trends of assets like BTC, ETH, and BNB, I also think that those who seize opportunities in the market are often those with this zeroing-out mindset. They are not trapped by past judgments and are willing to adjust their strategies based on new information. That’s the secret to surviving longer in a volatile market.
