Just realized a lot of newcomers in crypto still don't know what PNL actually means. Let me break this down because honestly, understanding PNL meaning is one of those things that'll change how you trade.

So PNL stands for Profit and Loss. Simple as that. But here's where it gets interesting - there are two types you need to know.

Unrealized PNL is what you're sitting on right now. Say you grabbed some ETH at 3,000 and it's trading at 3,500 today. That 500 difference? That's your unrealized PNL. But here's the catch - it's not real money yet. You haven't sold, so technically you haven't locked in anything.

Realized PNL is different. The moment you hit sell, boom - that profit or loss becomes actual. You sold at 3,500? Your realized PNL is now +500. That's real.

Then there's today's PNL, which is basically your scorecard for the current day. It adds up everything you've made or lost since the day started. Green numbers mean you're up, red means you're down. It refreshes in real-time, so you always know where you stand.

Why does understanding PNL meaning matter? Because it's not just about winning or losing - it's about tracking your actual performance and making smarter decisions. When you can read your PNL clearly, you know when to cut losses or when to take profits before things flip.

Looking at the market right now, BTC is sitting around 79.87K (down 2.14%), ETH at 2.29K (down 2.78%), and BNB at 642.30 (down 1.23%). If you're holding any of these, your PNL is probably showing some red today.

Have you checked your PNL this week? What's your take - are you up or down? Drop it in the comments.
ETH-2.51%
BTC-1.91%
BNB-0.83%
