Been thinking about when this crypto bull run actually kicks into high gear, and the signals are pointing pretty clearly to early-to-mid 2026. Here's what I'm seeing.
Historically, Bitcoin's halving cycles follow a pretty predictable pattern. We got the April 2024 halving, and if you look at past cycles, the real momentum typically shows up 12-18 months after that event. Do the math and you land right around the first half of 2026—which is exactly where a lot of macro strategists are positioning their bull run thesis.
Raoul Pal and several other analysts I've been following are actually pretty bullish on the idea that we could see the peak of this crypto bull run land somewhere around June 2026 if macro conditions cooperate. The early months—January through March—look like the most likely window for when things start accelerating. Better liquidity conditions and the possibility of interest rate cuts are the kind of tailwinds that could really get things moving.
What's interesting is that this timing makes sense from multiple angles. Improved monetary conditions, clearer regulatory frameworks, and bigger institutional money flowing in—these are the usual catalysts that drive a sustained bull run in crypto. We're also seeing new narratives bubbling up around tokenization and AI-related projects, which could add fresh fuel to the fire.
That said, I'd be careful about assuming everything moves in lockstep. Bitcoin might lead the charge, but altcoins could tell a completely different story depending on which ones capture liquidity and real adoption. Some assets could rally hard while others consolidate for months. The macro backdrop matters, but individual coin fundamentals will still determine who wins and who doesn't.
Right now BTC is trading around $80.29K (down 1.78% in 24h), ETH sitting at $2.30K (down 2.69%), and SOL at $88.26 (down 0.31%). Nothing crazy, but the setup for a crypto bull run in the months ahead still looks constructive if those macro pieces fall into place. Keep watching the early 2026 window closely.
