Comparison of final confirmation times for multiple mainstream public chains: TON, Avalanche, BNB approximately within 1 second
ME News Report, May 7 (UTC+8), multiple Layer 1 blockchains ranked in the top 30 by market capitalization have recently been compared for their finality confirmation times. TON completes block finality confirmation in about 0.6 seconds, with an overall time of approximately 1 second; Avalanche C-Chain and BNB Smart Chain both state they can achieve irreversible finality within about 1 second. Hedera’s finality takes approximately 2-3 seconds, XRP Ledger and Stellar generally complete ledger confirmation in around 3-5 seconds. Solana uses a consensus mechanism with about 32 slot delays for confirmation. PoW blockchains like Bitcoin and Litecoin still rely on multi-block confirmation routines, with Ethereum requiring about 12.8 minutes over two epochs, and Cardano’s design estimates finality to take about 1 day.
