Core Scientific plans to acquire Bitcoin mining company Polaris for $421 million, expanding AI data centers in the United States

ME News Report, May 6 (UTC+8), U.S. publicly listed mining company Core Scientific announced it will acquire Oklahoma-based Bitcoin mining company Polaris DS LLC for approximately $421 million, obtaining its 440 MW power contract with Oklahoma Gas & Electric to rapidly expand AI and high-performance computing hosting services. Polaris’s 40-acre campus is already powered and operational, adjacent to Core’s existing facility in Muskogee. The deal is expected to close in Q3 2026, pending regulatory approval. Core is transforming some Bitcoin mining farms in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Oklahoma into high-density computing centers, aiming to provide a total of 1 gigawatt of leasable power at the Muskogee campus to meet AI and other computing demands.
