You might have heard about Milady Maker, the NFT collection that became a cultural phenomenon in the crypto art space. Behind it all is Charlotte Fang, the creative force leading Remilia Corporation. His journey is honestly wild – full of wins, controversies, and comebacks that keep the NFT community talking.
Back in August 2021, Charlotte Fang and his team dropped Milady Maker, a 10,000-piece neo-chibi NFT collection on Ethereum. The roadmap was simple: just a Minecraft server. But it worked. The collection sold out and by April 2022, the floor price pumped to 1.55 ETH. Then things got messy. In May 2022, an X account linked to Fang posted racist and homophobic content. The backlash was brutal, and the floor price crashed. Charlotte Fang eventually apologized, saying it was performance art from an old account he wanted to distance himself from. The whole thing was toxic, and the community felt it.
But here's where it gets interesting. In May 2023, Elon Musk tweeted about the Milady meme, and suddenly everyone was talking about it again. The floor price bounced back hard, and by mid-2023, Milady became the third most expensive 10,000-piece PFP collection. Despite more drama (including a lawsuit Charlotte Fang filed against team members in September 2023), Milady remained one of the most traded NFT collections with a solid 4.90 ETH floor.
Not satisfied with one success story, Charlotte Fang and the team launched $CULT earlier this year – a meme coin that hit an $845 million FDV at launch. They allocated over half the 10 billion total supply to a "Cult fund," gave 15% to the team with 18-month vesting, and 20-35% to the Remilia treasury. Milady and Remilio NFT holders got exclusive airdrops. However, $CULT's performance has been rough lately. The token is currently trading at $0.00 with a market cap around $3.58 million and FDV of $4.62 million – a massive drop from its launch highs. It's a reminder that even successful creators can't guarantee every project will moon. Charlotte Fang's story shows how polarizing figures can still build loyal communities, but execution and market conditions matter just as much as hype.
