Just checked the bitcoin price news and it's been brutal lately. Bitcoin couldn't hold above 70k back in mid-February and has been all over the place since. Looking at the current data, we're sitting around 82.7k now, which is up 2.12% on the day, but the swings have been wild.
What caught my attention is that a lot of major players are getting bearish. Michael Burry, the guy who called the 2008 crash, just put out a newsletter saying Bitcoin could be heading for a serious correction. He's pointing out that BTC lost about a trillion in market cap in just a few months and thinks we might be heading into what he calls a 'death spiral.' Standard Chartered downgraded their Bitcoin price target from 150k to 100k and thinks the bottom could be around 50k in 2026.
Meanwhile, Ethereum dropped hard back then, down over 5%, and most alts followed. XRP, BNB, SOL all got hit. The whole crypto market has been shaky, evaporating over 1.8 trillion in value. Some analysts think we might not hit the real bottom until mid-to-late 2026. Definitely keeping an eye on how this plays out over the next few months.
