Ripple Shares North Korea Threat Intel With Crypto Firms as DPRK-Linked Losses Top $500M

Ripple said Monday that it is sharing internal threat intelligence on North Korean hackers with Crypto ISAC and other crypto firms as Drift and Kelp losses tied to Lazarus Group topped half a billion dollars in a month. Ripple and Crypto ISAC said the Drift attack relied on months of social engineering and malware on contributor devices rather than a smart contract exploit. An attorney for victims of North Korean terrorism also served restraining notices on Arbitrum DAO over 30,765 ETH frozen after the Kelp breach, and Aave disputed that filing in support of Arbitrum.
