State Street Bank: Recent DeFi attacks highlight the need for blockchain security, and institutions are expecting improvements
ME News message: On May 6 (UTC+8), Angus Fletcher, Head of Digital Assets at State Street Bank, said at the Consensus Miami conference that, amid the recent spate of DeFi attack incidents, institutional investors want blockchain security performance to be improved. He pointed out that before trillions of dollars in real-world assets are brought on-chain, the young crypto industry needs to find solutions now. Fletcher believes that interoperability between blockchains needs to be clearly defined and understood, and institutional clients need to understand the legal ownership and legal rights of cross-chain tokens. Dennis Bree, Head of Morpho, said that April may have been the month with the most hacker attacks in DeFi history, and regulators are conducting more due diligence on the security of collateralized assets.
