CoinWorld News reports that U.S. prosecutors have asked the judge to show leniency towards former Celsius Chief Revenue Officer Roni Cohen-Pavon, citing his provision of "substantial assistance" in the case.

In a letter submitted to the Southern District of New York, prosecutors stated that Cohen-Pavon is prepared to testify against former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky.
Prosecutors did not specify a recommended prison sentence but requested the judge consider guidelines for reducing the sentence.
Cohen-Pavon pleaded guilty in September 2023 to fraud and conspiracy related to manipulating the price of Celsius's CEL tokens.
Celsius collapsed in 2022, resulting in billions of dollars in losses.
