May is the Month of Mary, the Mother of God, the holy Theotokos.

Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant because, just as the ancient Ark carried the stone tablets of the Law, the manna from heaven, and Aaron’s priestly rod, Mary carried in her womb the Word made flesh, the true Bread from heaven, and the eternal High Priest.
The parallels are deliberate and striking: the Ark was overshadowed by the glory cloud, and Mary is overshadowed by the Holy Spirit;
David leapt before the Ark, and John the Baptist leaps in Elizabeth’s womb at Mary’s arrival;
the Ark stayed three months in the hill country of Judah, and Mary stays three months with Elizabeth in that same region.
These are not coincidences but theological signals that God has crafted a new, living Ark, one not made of acacia wood overlaid with gold, but of a woman filled with grace, purity, and divine favor. In Mary, the covenant is no longer written on stone but embodied in a person, and her very presence becomes a sign that God has come to dwell with His people in a deeper, more intimate way than ever before.
God gave us Mary as our mother in the cross.
We venerate her
We honour her
We love her
We ask for her intercession
